Ectoplasm were from Gainesville, Florida, USA and existed between 2012-2013.
Here we have their barrage of low-fi, aggravated, venemous, noisy mangel hardcore punk in the form of their demo tape from 2012. They have also released a self-titled 7" via Distort Reality in 2013 and a further 2 self-released tapes.
With this you 32 single stroke bass plucks (I'm not a musician), before the onslaught commences, then shit hits the fan big time. It's difficult to decipher what's going on, yet is still held together in tight formation and pure anger and velocity for the next 7 and a half minutes. I'd say there's a lot of sliding going on, a lot of drum fills, even some pinch harmonics (right?) going on in there, before out of nowhere you get a catchy riff and drum beat, I could have sworn I heard a 2 second long solo amidst all the distortion. The vocals are hoarse and urgent. It's just good, interesting crustcore. <- What a shit review.
You can account for the fact you will be in to them, as band members have also played in: Pollen, Mauser, Vagra, Vermin, Process, Gasmiasma, Subversive Right, Heroindod (PLAY LOUD!) and other bands.
Anyway, here's today's download. 5 tracks in 8 minutes. Enjoy!:
