Bit of a nutty old band, this one. How this music deliberately came to sound this way is beyond me, and I've heard this (irrelevant to the post). I'm going to pull a location out of the hat and say they're from San Francisco, California and were a band from 2009-2012. They had 5 releases, today I give you 3 of them.
Yes it's punk, yes it contains a heavy dose of noise but it gives off more than that. Without knowing what the lyrics are, I'm thrown headlong in to an image of a punk band recording away in the attic, when all of a sudden a curious extra terrestrial hovers their ship overhead and pulls the vocalist (Robert Collins) up in to the light orb. As the recording continues, amidst the commotion, with the band unaware that they're allowed to stop playing, we hear the sound of the orb straining against the amplifiers to suck up all the electrical energy the ship may need to continue to flourish. During this time, the vocalist is trying to communicate, by screaming at the top of his lungs from the ship, hoping that anyone down in the attic will hear his call. But no-one can as the frequency isn't quite set equally.
Maybe that's just me. You decide.
I like it.
Oh, and one of their 7"s was released by Lengua Armada Discos Label (Run by Martin Sorrondeguy, from Los Crudos, Arma Contra Arma, Needles, N/N, Tragatelo, Limp Wrist. and other projects).
Band members have been in a host of great bands: Hunting Party, Desolation, Repercussions, Morpheme, Artimus Pyle, Ritual Control, What Happens Next? (WxHxNx), Fuckface (despite the name) and lots of others. Robert Collins is also responsible for some great blogs where he uploads rips from his own tape collection: Terminal Escape, Escape Is Terminal and others.
Anyway, here's what I've got for you today:
Demo (Tape) [2009]
Vaccuum (7'') [2011]
Vaccuum - 2nd EP (7'') [2011]
