#10 - Zikade

Here's a special one, after some quiet time on the blog, which was only around for 10 days prior to the lull anyway.

Zikade are a crust punk band, from Ashikaga, Tochigi, Japan, with a strong Doom worship in the vocals. They started in 2016 and are still current now, going into 2019.

There's not much information I can really give on this band, as they're extremely elusive online. Other than the live video linked above, you can't hear anything about them, there's no Facebook, no Bandcamp, no Soundcloud, no Blog, no Website, no news from any labels as both their current releases (this demo cd-r ep and a demo tape) were both self-released.

Luckily for us, Joe (click the link), seems to know everything going on in the world of decent crust around the world and pointed me towards the band by means of the aforementioned video. I asked around and luckily Phil from Imminent Destruction Records And Distro (UK), who doesn't know me at all, was really friendly and helpful and offered without hesitation to rip his copy and send over the tracks.

This wasn't recorded with the highest quality, or maybe it's deliberately as chaotic as it's portrayed, whose to know?

What I do know, however, is that Zikade have an upcoming release with Braincell from Malaysia, who have already put their side of the split on Bandcamp to listen to. To be released by Hardcore Victim (Records), Australia.

What the Internet does tell me, is that Sadakichi (the vocalist of Zikade), also played in a noise punk band called Pokkoider, who released a ''Studio Demo'' Tape in 2013 but you'll have less luck finding any information on that, than this.

Anyway, here's the demo:
